Hello! Well this is all pretty serious sounding, isn’t it?

Scary legal stuff means I’ve decided to pull my finger out and create a privacy policy for The Popcorn Muncher. The web address is and this is an entertainment website focused mainly around talking nonsense about movies. Nonetheless, we do hold a tiny amount of data about you guys that visit the site. Not enough to worry about though. This ain’t Facebook.

Data Collection

This website uses tracking systems, as well as third-party service Google Analytics, in order to analyse traffic to the website and showcase which articles draw in the most visitors. These services record limited information about visitors including IP address, country of origin, type of browser, time spent on site and the pages visited. We also use Akismet to monitor comments for spam. Their privacy policy can be found here.


When submitting comments to The Popcorn Muncher, we ask users to submit their email address. This information is not passed on to third parties, but it is stored indefinitely in order to allow for faster comment moderation on repeat visits to the website.

Content From External Websites

As with any other website of this kind, we often use embedded content from other websites, including Twitter, YouTube and SoundCloud. Those websites may record visits and geographical data in accordance with their own data retention policy, particularly if you’re logged into an account.
