One of the scariest characters in the history of horror fiction is back to haunt a load more nightmares for a whole new generation of cinemagoers on this week’s Popcorn Muncher Podcast, hosted by Luke Stevenson and Tom Beasley – editor of The Popcorn Muncher.

We review a pair of films this week, with Stephen King adaptation It taking centre stage. The film, in which Bill Skarsgård is pure nightmare fuel as Pennywise the Dancing Clown, is proving to be a bona fide horror blockbuster. It’s raking in box office dollars at a remarkable rate by scaring the pants off just about everyone who sees it. We also chat about Wind River, in which Sicario and Hell or High Water scribe Taylor Sheridan makes the jump to the director’s chair for a Native American murder tale.

In the news section, we discuss JJ Abrams‘s return to the director’s chair for the Star Wars franchise. We also break down the trailer for The Disaster Artist, in which James Franco and friends pay tribute to cult classic The Room, and the first teaser for Jennifer Lawrence-starring spy tale Red Sparrow. Finally, we run down our top five movies about musicians, in honour of last week’s release Patti Cake$.
