Christopher Nolan delivers one of his most ambitious cinematic experiences on this week’s Popcorn Muncher Podcast, hosted by Patrick Wilson with Luke Stevenson and Tom Beasley – editor of The Popcorn Muncher.

We review Nolan’s wartime thriller Dunkirk, which depicts one of Britain’s biggest ever military defeats as hundreds of thousands of men were left stranded on the French beaches during the Second World War. We follow Tom Hardy in the skies, Mark Rylance on the seas… and Harry Styles on land, obviously. There’s also a review of Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, which might well be the funniest film of the year so far.

In the news section, we discuss the Comic-Con trailers for superhero blockbusters Justice League and Thor: Ragnarok, while also casting an eye over the director shortlist for the 25th James Bond movie. We debate whether prequels are worth making and Patrick uses prequel trilogies as the inspiration for his quiz.
