One of the most memorable heroines in video game history is back on this week’s Popcorn Muncher Podcast, hosted by Patrick Wilson, with Luke Stevenson and Tom Beasley – editor of The Popcorn Muncher.

We review the new take on Tomb Raider, starring Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft, raiding tombs and kicking arse. We also chat about the turgid religious drama Mary Magdalene, in which Rooney Mara plays the title and Joaquin Phoenix is Jesus – obviously. There’s also kiddie animation Peter Rabbit, in which James Corden provides a distinctly 21st century slant on the classic Beatrix Potter character.

In the news section, there are two big superhero developments. First, there’s the full trailer for Deadpool 2 and then Chris Evans has given an interview in which he hints at his forthcoming departure from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We also discuss Disney’s decision to remake Lady and the Tramp for its new streaming platform. In the quiz, Luke takes us back in time to ask about two movies released a decade ago.
