Controversy and scandal may overshadow the biggest new film on this week’s Popcorn Muncher Podcast, hosted by Luke Stevenson, with Tom Beasley – editor of The Popcorn Muncher.

We review a rather odd batch of films to begin 2018, including the dismal Ben Stiller drama Brad’s Status and western Hostiles, which sees Christian Bale as a soldier transporting a Native American chief across dangerous land. Finally, we chat about Ridley Scott‘s kidnapping drama All the Money in the World, which saw Christopher Plummer brought in at the last moment to replace disgraced star Kevin Spacey.

In the news section, we discuss the current happenings in awards season, with the Golden Globes announced and the BAFTAs being criticised for its all-male director shortlists. We also discuss the news that Leonardo DiCaprio has taken on a role in Quentin Tarantino‘s movie set during the time of the Manson murders and the unsurprising revelation that another director has left the Gambit movie. To round the show off, we take a look at the most exciting films to come in 2018, from the biggest blockbusters to interesting horror films.
