It’s time for movie royalty to hop back into his director’s chair on The Popcorn Muncher Podcast, hosted by Patrick Wilson with Luke Stevenson and Tom Beasley – editor of The Popcorn Muncher.

Tom reviews Kathryn Bigelow‘s hard-edged, racially-charged historical drama Detroit and the considerably less interesting Scarlett Johansson comedy Rough Night. Then Patrick pops in to discuss Steven Soderbergh‘s filmmaking return in heist caper Logan Lucky and all three of us weigh in on horror director Adam Wingard‘s take on beloved Japanese anime tale Death Note for Netflix.

In the news segment, we chat about Ed Skrein‘s decision to step aside from the Hellboy reboot over a whitewashing row and say a sad farewell to horror movie legend Tobe Hooper. We debate whether Matthew McConaughey‘s return to form is starting to decline and Luke leads a quiz based around two films released a decade ago.
