It’s the battle of the outlandish ideas on this week’s Popcorn Muncher Podcast, hosted by Patrick Wilson with Luke Stevenson and Tom Beasley – editor of The Popcorn Muncher.

We review Luc Besson‘s wildly ambitious sci-fi adventure Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, which stars Cara Delevingne and Dane DeHaan as space peacekeepers on an enormous station playing host to hundreds of alien races. On the other side of the coin, we also review the animated travesty known as The Emoji Movie. Buckle up, because things are about to get poop.

Meanwhile, we chat about the news that Chiwetel Ejiofor might be in line to play Scar in the remake of The Lion King, the first full trailer for horror movie mother! and our first look at Josh Brolin in costume as Cable for Deadpool 2. In the debate, we decide whether the format in which you see a film impacts its quality and Luke leads a quiz about films released a decade ago.
