A classic fairytale gets a faithful revamp on this week’s Popcorn Muncher Podcast, hosted by Patrick Wilson with Luke Stevenson and Tom Beasley – editor of The Popcorn Muncher.

We talk about Disney’s latest live-action reboot Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson, which is already dominating the global box office and wowing audiences of all ages. There’s also a review of Jordan Peele‘s socially-conscious racial horror Get Out, which might just be the best movie of the year, and Paul Verhoeven‘s provocative drama Elle, starring an Oscar-nominated Isabelle Huppert.

We take a look at the news that Spider-Man villain Venom is going to get his own solo movie and we also wave goodbye to the Terminator franchise, which seems to be going the way of the dodo after the disastrous Terminator Genisys. In the debate, we argue whether the Wachowskis are essential to the Matrix franchise, and Tom delivers a quiz about the movie careers of wrestlers – just in time for WrestleMania.

Last week, to mark the first anniversary of the podcast, we created a trio of bingo cards so you can play along with our podcast in-jokes and quirks. Let us know in the comments if you’ve had a go!
