DC’s “worst of the worst” go under the microscope as we talk about Suicide Squad on a special edition of The Popcorn Muncher Podcast, hosted by Patrick Wilson with Luke Stevenson and Tom Beasley – editor of The Popcorn Muncher.
The darker of the superhero studios was left licking its wounds after critics kicked Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice around town. Suicide Squad, helmed by David Ayer, was touted as an edgy new direction for the DC Extended Universe, but has itself been shot down by a vehement critical backlash. We discuss the film in detail, analysing what worked and what didn’t, including Jared Leto‘s divisive portrayal of the Joker.
As a final reminder, this podcast will contain spoilers for Suicide Squad, so don’t listen until you’ve seen the film. You can also listen to some of our other detailed spoiler discussions.
