The Shiznit are back with honest posters for Oscars 2015
As has become customary in the midst of awards season, the hilarious folks at The Shiznit have chipped in to the Oscars discussion with a selection of “honest” film posters for the nominated films.
Whilst the rest of us are talking about snubs and surprises, this collection of posters reduces the films’ intentions to their most basic, with a healthy smattering of terrible puns.
Best Picture frontrunners Boyhood and Birdman make their obligatory appearances, with the latter referred to as “The Dark Knight Crisis” due to star Michael Keaton’s superhero movie past.
The Best Actor race this year may well come down to a battle between two British biopics, with Eddie Redmayne’s central role in The Theory of Everything butting heads with Benedict Cumberbatch in The Imitation Game.
Naturally, the folks at The Shiznit take a cynical view on these films’ position in the awards picture….
Also subject to parody are Interstellar and Nightcrawler, which draw facetious comparisons to 2001: A Space Odyssey and Scarface respectively.
